Got fleas? Brewers yeast for dogs can be used for natural flea control and as a flea preventative–and it is safe for your dog.

Yeast used to be a by-product of the beer brewing industry. Now it is also made specifically as a nutritional supplement.

Dog nutritional yeast, rich in vitamins, can be added to homemade dog treat recipes to prevent or get rid of fleas.

Or just add a tablespoon or two a day to your pet’s dog food to get results!

Brewer’s yeast or nutritional yeast, is a healthy dog treat ingredient that is especially rich in B vitamins, which can help your dog handle stress.

B vitamins also help to metabolize carbohydrates, fats and proteins–a real plus if you are working to reduce your dog’s weight.

In addition, B vitamins help maintain the little muscles that are used for your dog’s digestive system.

Nutritional yeast is also rich in chromium, which has been shown to significantly reduce blood cholesterol levels.

Brewers Yeast for Fleas and More…

So, if your dog has been diagnosed with heart disease or high cholesterol, you might consider adding some nutritional yeast to his diet.

Simply putting a teaspoon to a tablespoon of yeast on his food every day will make a huge difference in his health.

But I think the greatest thing about yeast is that it can help with flea control. If you give your pet some yeast daily, it can help him to remain flea-free because the fleas just don’t find your dog to be inviting. I’m not sure if they detect an odor or if it’s something else—but it works.

There is a caveat though—while yeast can help to repel fleas, if you already have a serious flea problem, you will probably have to resort to stronger, chemical solutions.

The best way to use brewers yeast for fleas is to use it to prevent a problem before it exists!
